what i'm passionate about
I run the leading music publisher in the Middle East. I come from a musical background, but have held executive positions for the past few years: mostly around music rights, content licensing, and building new businesses from the ground-up.
I began in the music industry as a member of the Dream Warriors, a group long-time considered pioneers of Canadian hip hop. At 17 I signed a record deal with EMI and toured the world. In my 20's I relocated to the UK, and eventually ran a music publishing company in London with $100m in initial finance. Interested in emerging markets I relocated in 2007 to Dubai to set up Fairwood Music Arabia, the leading music publishing co. in the Middle East. Fairwood Arabia has signed exclusive deals with Universal and EMI among others to represent their catalogs in the region, and I am generally considered one of the most prominent regional advocates for the industry and music rights.
